Over 15 years of experience in development and design on the WordPress CMS, for a variety of websites in different verticles including News sites, e-Commerce, Schools LMS, Restaurants, Entertainment, and many more. Every site I deploy has a solid foundation to be index by search engines, a great UX to engage with their customers, and ongoing support.
I have spent the last 20 years working across the Digital spectrum, generally demystifying complex Search and Optimization solutions to empower all business units to integrate Search and SEO. In my current role at The Wall Street Journal, I have focused on the Technical and News SEO drive to make SEO a key component of WSJ, Dow Jones & News Corp’s strategy. I have been recognized with a DJ1 Award as well as invitations to speak at Google and other blogs, podcasts, and vlogs.
Originally from the UK, I began my career during the dot-com boom as a consultant at Digital Computer Corporation, where one of the first search engines – Altavista – was developed and Web 1.0 was born. From there I began writing white papers on Windows NT server clustering on DEC Alpha Servers which was bleeding edge at the time. In 2002 I moved to Madrid, Spain to co-found a startup digital agency. Since then and before landing at WSJ, I have worked as a consultant, SEO, digital producer, technical lead, and project manager across Europe and the U.S. collaborating with digital agencies such as Ogilvy and clients such as Microsoft, HP, Pepe Jeans, British Council, and Katie Couric.
I hold an Honors degree in Computing from Oxford Brookes University, am a certified Microsoft systems engineer, and am a lifelong musician with experience in studio recording, songwriting, and live touring with various bands. I am fluent in Spanish, can converse in Polish, and am also a co-author of the No. 1 Amazon best-seller, Mastering In-House SEO.
